The Crabapple outside the house is finally in full bloom. Last year we felt a bit cheated. We had a hot dry spring day with high winds the day the tree fully bloomed. It was picked clean by the stong winds in an afternoon. This year we're lucky. Amy's placed a couple of finch feeders beneath it and if you look closely at the picture you can see a little yellow finch. We've been luckey over the past two weeks. Normally there are at least 20 purple and yellow finches swarming the feeders and grass. The contrast between their yellow feathers and the bright pink of the apple blossoms is amazing. We have a breakfast nook in the house next to the window. The boys and I spent out Saturday morning over bacon and pancakes chucking over the birds as they pushed and chased each other around the feeders.
